Grief and Loss
Including Pet Loss
Grief and loss can completely alter the way we see ourselves and the world we live in. We are often expected to simply "get over" and "move on" from these immensely difficult and painful life changes, which can often leave us feeling like we are doing something wrong when we cannot meet these expectations. Sometimes we are even told what can or cannot be defined as "acceptable or valid grief". It can all feel isolating, hurtful, and even angering.
Maybe you are grieving a sudden, unexpected death, the death of someone you had a complicated relationship with, the loss of a pet, or a loved one is terminally ill (anticipatory grief). All of these are valid types of grief and loss.
You deserve to have support through your grief. Grief therapy is a space where you and all parts of your grief are welcomed, accepted and honored. This is a space to talk openly about the heavy, complicated emotions that sometimes feel impossible to live through. We will work together, side by side, to make it feel less impossible.
